Portrait of Sébastien – Sommelier
“The dream, my dream, which I will be pleased to share with you.”

“Coming from a family spread all over France, I developed a certain taste for the regional specialties very early on. At age 17, I turned to hotel school, I left with a vocational baccalaureate in the Art of Entertaining in my hand, and I reached England.

“After 6 months of working on my Frenglish at a little restaurant that was so Frenchy, so romantic, I went to pursue my dreams on the French side in Paris, where I worked at a three-Michelin-star restaurant, Pierre Gagnaire, for five years.

“After passing through Switzerland, I returned to Saumur in the Loire valley. At that time, my thirst for wine was becoming increasingly intense, and after several encounters, I set off again on the roads of France toward Beaune, where school awaited me again at the Lycée Viticole de Beaune, the school of choice for winemakers around the world.

“With my diploma in hand, I joined forces with a local winemaker, Fanny Sabre, and we started a wine bar together in the commune of Pommard. For 5 years, I sought out the great wines from small winemakers, sensitive to their work, the respect for the soil and nature, wines without inputs and other organic or biodynamic products.

“My motivation is to make you happy & curious!”

“I grew up in Grenoble and I developed a real passion for wine through my studies in hotel management in Montreal. My studies were mainly focused on the sommelier profession… then I became one. I practiced in the profession in Montreal, Toronto, and the Canadian Rockies.

“I quickly understood that wine wasn’t just about restaurant life, but also history, geography, geology, and so many other things.

“I completed my WSET Level 3 in Toronto in 2017 and I’m currently finishing Level 4 in London. Crazy about wine and a former sommelier, Burgundy seemed to be an obvious choice for me.
“The best feeling for me is knowing that my customers have had a great time, but also that I inspired them to dig deeper into the subject. I would describe myself as a great host, very passionate and dedicated to what I do. See you very soon!”

“I wanted to dig even deeper and share this ever-growing passion, and so I turned to wine tourism. That was how I became a guide at Authentica Tours, de facto combining travel and wine, the art of entertaining and French savoir-vivre. The dream, my dream, which I will be pleased to share with you.”

Our sommelier and guide was incredible. An absolutely precise knowledge of Burgundy wine and this region. We could ask a question about the wine or the region and receive a clear and specific answer. The best wine tour I could take. It makes me want to learn even more. 5-star tour. I recommend this tour.

Portrait of Ann – Graduate of the Lycée Viticole de Beaune
“Welcoming guests from around the world to these magnificent Burgundy vineyards is the best job in the world.”

“A Belgium native, I trained for 8 months at the École du Vin de Beaune (Viticulture Lycée, CFPPA) and received a diploma in ‘technical/sales manager in wines and spirits.’

“After an experience as a wine advisor at a large estate in Beaune, I joined Authentica Tours as a guide.

“I’m a very enthusiastic and passionate person. I love my job, I love my region, and I love to share my passion with others.
“As a perfectionist, I’m constantly reading and learning about Burgundy—its culture, its history, its wines—to give as much information as possible to our customers (if they’re interested). They often tell me: ‘You’re so well informed.’

“Being outside every day with guests from around the world in these magnificent Burgundy vineyards… isn’t this the best workplace you could imagine?

“So, join me for a tour, and I will be happy to guide you through our marvellous wine-growing region and share my passion with you!”
